PART 3 (1h. 40 mn. 26 s.) :

 

 

 

On finissait malheureusement la soirée sous forme d'Hommage encore une fois, puisqu'on apprennait la disparition de Wayne Smith  le 17 février dernier. Protégé de Prince Jammys, il a commencé sa carrière en sa compagnie dans la fin des année 70, mais ce n'est qu'en 1982 que ses 1eres productions sortent au travers de l'album Youthman Skanking. De là tout s'accélère très vite pour Wayne Smith qui participe avec Patrick Andy à l'album Clash vol.7 produit par Channel1 en 1984 puis qui enregistre ses trois derniers album dans la foulée en 1985 : Smoker Super, Sleng Teng et Wicked Ina DanceHall. Les deux derniers sont issus des studios Jammys et révolutionnent complètement l'industrie du Reggae qui va s'en trouver définitvement transformé puisqu'ils marquent la toute 1ère apparition du Reggae 100% Digital, sans aucuns instruments. De ces deux albums on retient surtout le 1er (le second, qui ne sort que l'année d'apres en 1986, s'en retrouve quelque peu éclipsé), à savoir l'album Sleng Teng, qui vaudra son surnom à Wayne Smith, et qui connaitra un succès planétaire notamment grace au titre éponyme Sleng Teng qui continue encore aujourd'hui à Nice Up les danses du Monde entier...
